MANA PROGRAMS

MANA accomplishes its mission through programs in two focus areas:

AvanZamos is a chapter-based, formal leadership development program for adult Latinas. The goal is to strengthen Latina community leaders through educational programs at:

• Local Workshops and Brindis
• National Training Conferences
• Las Primeras®, a celebration of Latina achievement held annually in Washington, DC during Hispanic Heritage month.

HERMANITAS® is a national initiative focused on encouraging adolescent girls to stay in school and to pursue high academic goals. The goal is to develop the talents and skills of young Latinas in elementary, middle and high school through educational programs at:

• National HERMANITAS® Summer Institute
• Local HERMANITAS®
• Girl Scout Partnership
• Online Mentoring Initiative
• Community Service
• ·School Based Initiatives
