Latino Issues Addressed At MANA Regional Conference

Washington, DC Monday October 16, 2000- MANA de San Antonio is hosting MANA National's Regional Conference, Saturday October 21, 2000, at the Sidney Lanier High School, from 8:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M.

MANA de San Antonio, a non profit 501 (c) (3) organization got started in San Antonio two years ago. MANA has over 3,000 members nationwide; their headquarters is in Washington, DC. MANA is a national community of informed Latina activists working to help create a better quality of life for all Hispanics through leadership development, community service, and advocacy.

Attending the conference will be members from across the country. The National President and CEO is Alma Morales Riojas, a native San Antonian and a graduate of Lanier High School. Ms Riojas has been living in Washington DC for many years working as an executive for several agencies.

The conference theme is "Strengthening Our Lives- Building Our Communities". Henry Cisneros has been invited to speak at the opening ceremonies.
